Sheepskin Rugs

Genuine, natural sheepskin rugs, ethically sourced from British UK farms. Each rug is inherently unique, offering a touch of understated luxury to elevate both indoor and outdoor living spaces.

Genuine British sheepskin rugs from Yorkshire

Each hide is a genuine product of nature. The dense wool fibres of our rugs are breathable and hypo-allergenic.

Every sheepskin rug in our collection is sourced from high-welfare British farms in Yorkshire. The hides are selected by hand for pile density, softness, and natural colour consistency, then professionally tanned to preserve the wool's full depth and texture. The result is a genuine sheepskin rug that feels as good as it looks: dense, plush, and built to last.

We sell real sheepskin, not synthetic. The difference is immediate. Natural wool fibres regulate temperature, wicking moisture away in warm weather and insulating in the cold. That makes our rugs comfortable year-round, whether they're on a living room floor, draped over a sofa, or covering outdoor garden furniture. Faux sheepskin can't do this, synthetic fibres trap heat and wear flat within months. A real sheepskin rug, properly cared for, keeps its shape and softness for years.

Every rug we sell is backed by our lifetime craftsmanship guarantee. If the stitching fails or the hide degrades under normal use, we'll replace it.

Choosing the right size

Our sheepskin rugs come in four core sizes, each designed for different spaces and uses.

A single sheepskin rug, our classic size, measures approximately 95 × 60 cm. It's the right size for a barstool, desk chair, occasional seat, or bedside accent. Singles are also the most portable, easy to move between a garden chair and an indoor sofa, or to take with you when you travel.

A double sheepskin rug (also called a long sheepskin) measures approximately 180 × 60 cm. Two hides are matched and sewn end-to-end, creating an elongated shape that fits hallway benches, window seats, armchair backs, and the foot of a bed. Doubles are our most versatile size for furniture.

A quad sheepskin rug measures approximately 180 × 120 cm. Four matched hides create a large rectangular rug suited to sofas, love seats, garden furniture sets, and open floors. This is the size where sheepskin becomes a centrepiece rather than an accent.

We also carry octo sheepskin rugs, eight hides in a 2×4 configuration, measuring 214 × 180 cm, for larger living spaces and statement floor coverage.

Our colour range

We carry a range of natural and dyed shades, each chosen to complement both modern and traditional interiors.

Ivory is our brightest white, a clean, striking tone that stands out against darker furniture and works well in modern, minimal spaces.

Champers is our closest shade to natural wool — a soft, warm cream with gentle variation and very pale gold undertones.

Stone sits between grey and beige. It's our most neutral shade and the easiest to place in a room without competing with existing colours.

Honey is our warmest tone, a rich golden amber that brings depth to neutral spaces and catches the light beautifully on outdoor furniture.

Light grey is cool and contemporary, with a silvery quality that works well against pale wood, white walls, and charcoal upholstery.

Slate is our darkest shade, a deep charcoal grey that adds presence and contrast, and hides marks well in high-use areas.

Wolf tip features cream wool tipped with soft grey-brown, creating a graduated two-tone effect with natural depth and texture.

Jacob print features bold brown-and-white markings inspired by one of Britain's oldest heritage breeds, applied to dense longwool using eco-friendly dyes.

Every colour retains the same material properties: dense pile, natural breathability, temperature regulation, and the soft hand-feel that only genuine sheepskin delivers.

Indoor and outdoor sheepskin

Our sheepskins are designed to be used outdoors as well as in. Wool is naturally moisture-wicking and quick-drying, which means a sheepskin draped over garden furniture handles British weather well. An unexpected shower won't cause damage, shake it out, let it air, and it dries back to its original softness.

This makes our rugs a practical choice for patio sets, garden benches, egg chairs, and covered outdoor seating areas. In the evening, bring them inside and drape them over a sofa or armchair. The same rug works in both settings.

FAQs

Q: How can you tell if a sheepskin rug is genuine?

A: A real sheepskin rug has a leather backing (the hide) with wool fibres attached directly to it. The fibres vary in length and density, and the backing feels like soft suede. Synthetic sheepskin has a fabric or mesh backing, and the fibres are uniform in length. Our guide to spotting real vs fake sheepskin covers this in detail.

Q: Are sheepskin rugs suitable for outdoor use?

A: Yes. Genuine sheepskin is naturally moisture-wicking and quick-drying, making it well-suited to garden furniture, patio seating, and covered outdoor areas. Wool handles light rain and morning dew without damage. All of our sheepskin rugs are designed for both indoor and outdoor use.

Q: How do you care for a sheepskin rug?

A: Regular brushing and occasional shaking are enough to keep a sheepskin rug looking its best. For spills, spot-clean with cold water and a wool-safe detergent. Avoid machine washing unless absolutely necessary, as it can affect the hide. Our full care guide walks you through brushing, cleaning, and long-term maintenance.

Q: What sizes do sheepskin rugs come in?

A: We offer singles (approx. 95 × 60 cm), doubles (approx. 180 × 60 cm), quads (approx. 180 × 120 cm), and octos (approx. 214 × 180 cm). Singles suit chairs and stools, doubles fit benches and armchairs and also make great runners or can be draped of the foot of a bed, and quads in addition to making great statement rugs, cover sofas and larger furniture. Octos are well suited to large open spaces and make the ultimate statement piece. See our size guide for measurements and visual references.

Q: Are your sheepskin rugs ethically sourced?

A: Yes. All our sheepskins are sourced from high-welfare British farms in Yorkshire. The hides are a byproduct of the farming industry, no animals are raised specifically for their skins. We work directly with trusted suppliers who share our commitment to responsible sourcing.
